Project Fractal Resilience is built on a simple premise: that a commitment to a singular outcome, shared by thousands of communities, doesn’t just strengthen each community — it generates a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
This project is motivated and inspired by one such community in the United States: the people who run elections. Their shared commitment is securing the vote. At the heart of this community are local election offices. But their work is also bolstered by the non-profits, academics, legal organizations, and other democracy stakeholders who support the work of administering free and fair elections.
Individually, local offices run elections for their communities, with democracy stakeholders providing support. But together, these groups become something more: a living embodiment of how a shared commitment, held across scale, becomes a creative source of adaptive and ongoing resilience itself.
